The Changing of the Cats
occurs when Fluffy wants to come in, and Gonad wants to go out, or vice
versa. The door is open, their path clear, but they must tediously
calculate whether their paths will coincide and destruction will occur. As
they warily watch each other, the tension mounts. Finally one makes a
desperate break for it. Hoping he can get by the other fast enough to
escape without contact, he quickly slides by his enemy to freedom. The
more cautious cat calmly observes this, and, with danger out of the way,
steps across the threshold.
This having safely transpired, disaster is averted once again, and life in
the Dudfield house returns to normal... for now.
